Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before placing your membership application with Stargazers Club WA.

The following terms and conditions govern your membership to Stargazers Club WA operated by Carol Redford T/A Stargazers Club WA. ABN 90 165 239 057:
General
- Membership to Stargazers Club WA is open to anyone interested in receiving information about astronomy, related events and news.
- Membership can be purchased via the Stargazers Club WA website’s (www.stargazersclubwa.com.au) secure online payment system although other means of payment are possible. Please contact us to discuss other options.
- Unless otherwise stated, all prices are quoted in Australian Dollars and where applicable, inclusive of goods and services tax.
- To become a Stargazers Club WA member, applicants must pay the membership fee, provide true, accurate, complete and up to date joining details (and, where relevant, obtain the consent of a nominated recipient for a gift membership to provide their personal information to Stargazers Club WA) and provide an individual email address unused by any other person.
- Personal information that Stargazers Club WA collects is maintained in accordance with Stargazers Club WA’s Privacy Statement.
- All emails sent to members will clearly identify Stargazers Club WA as the sender responsible for the communication with contact details and will include an unsubscribe facility allowing Stargazers Club WA members to remove themselves from the database at any time. If a Stargazers Club WA member voluntarily unsubscribes from the database or membership, no membership refunds will be issued.
- It is the responsibility of the individual member to update any personal information that may change, including email contact addresses. Changes can be made via the website or by contacting Stargazers Club WA.
Membership
Membership Period (12 month term)
- The membership period to Stargazers Club WA is twelve (12) months.
Continuation of Membership After Initial Membership Period
- At the end of the initial membership period, membership can be renewed. Subsequent membership periods to Stargazers Club WA are for twelve (12) months.
Payment
Membership fees can be paid:
- Upfront paid in full; or
- Ongoing direct debit by monthly instalments, payable in advance over the membership period (12 months)
Ongoing direct debit membership payments are due on the membership start date and monthly thereafter. The ongoing direct debit membership payments must still be paid when due even if the member is not taking advantage of or utilising the membership entitlements.
All payments are in Australian dollars. Any purchase will be charged in Australian dollars. The purchaser is solely liable for any currency conversion fee charged.
Cancellation of Membership
Memberships may be cancelled by contacting Stargazers Club WA in writing.
- All cancellations require a 14 day notice period.
- All cancellations will be liable for any fees due which fall within the 14 day notice period.
- In respect of ongoing direct debit memberships, a $100.00 cancellation fee applies for memberships that are cancelled during the membership period.
- In respect of cancellation of paid in full memberships, no refunds will be provided.
Increase in Membership Fees
Following expiration of the membership period and prior to continuation of membership, Stargazers Club WA may increase membership fees. If membership fees have increased, Stargazers Club WA will advise the member prior to continuation of membership.
Cooling-Off Period
Stargazers Club WA offers members a cooling-off period of 7 days from initial joining date. A customer can choose to enact their cooling-off period and terminate their membership, if the customer submits a written request to terminate their membership within the timeframe specified as the cooling off period. On termination of the membership, Stargazers Club WA will refund all monies paid and cancel the membership. The cooling-off period offer applies to new memberships. A customer cannot enact the cooling-off period if they have attended an event during the cooling-off period.
Transfer of Membership
You can transfer your membership of 12 months paid in full or ongoing direct debit to a person nominated by you within the membership period by contacting Stargazers Club WA in writing.
Membership Entitlements
Member Entitlements
A year’s Platinum Membership to Stargazers Club WA includes:
- A private 2 hour telescope lesson. The class is held in Perth northern suburbs, at a convenient time for the Member.
- 24 tickets to Stargazers Club WA events. Members with a telescope can access one (1) of their included tickets per event, up to 12 per year. Members can also access one (1) additional ticket per event for a friend or family member (without a telescope) to accompany the Member to events, up to 12 per year. Events are held in Perth, usually north of the Swan River. There are at least 12 Stargazers Club WA events held per year.
- Up to three (3) 50% discounted Stargazers Club WA event tickets per event for friends and family.
- Members-only eNewsletters
A year’s Gold Membership to Stargazers Club WA includes:
- 24 tickets to Stargazers Club WA events. Members with a telescope can access one (1) of their included tickets per event, up to 12 per year. Members can also access one (1) additional ticket per event for a friend or family member (without a telescope) to accompany the Member to events, up to 12 per year. Events are held in Perth, usually north of the Swan River. There are at least 12 Stargazers Club WA events held per year.
- Up to three (3) 50% discounted Stargazers Club WA event tickets per event for friends and family.
- Members-only eNewsletters
A year’s Silver Membership to Stargazers Club WA includes:
- 10% discount on Stargazers Club WA events. (Members only. Not available for friends and family of members.)

Termination
Membership Termination
- Stargazers Club WA may at its sole discretion suspend or terminate any Stargazers Club WA membership. If this occurs, the unused portion of a membership payment will be refunded to the member who paid the membership or the ongoing direct debit membership payment shall cease to be charged.
Stargazers Club WA Termination
- Stargazers Club WA may at its sole discretion suspend or terminate Stargazers Club WA. If this occurs, the unused portion of a membership payment will be refunded to the member who paid the membership or the ongoing direct debit membership payment shall cease to be charged.
Changes to Membership Terms and Conditions
- Stargazers Club WA may change the membership terms and conditions at any time as may be reasonably necessary by not less than one (1) month’s prior written notice. If the purchaser believes they are adversely affected by the change or that the change is unfair the purchaser may terminate the membership agreement by giving Stargazers Club WA notice of termination of the membership agreement not more than fourteen (14) days after they receive the notice from Stargazers Club WA. If the purchaser does so then the membership agreement shall be at an end one (1) month after Stargazers Club WA gave the purchaser notice of the change and the ongoing direct debit membership payment shall be payable in the intervening period. If Stargazers Club WA does not receive any notice of termination of the membership agreement from the purchaser during the fourteen (14) day period then the membership agreement shall continue subject to the changes notified.
Disclaimer and Privacy
- Neither Stargazers Club WA nor any employee or agent of Stargazers Club WA shall be responsible or liable for any loss, damage or injury (including death) however caused (whether caused by any negligent or other unlawful act or omission of, by, or on, the part of Stargazers Club WA, or any agent or employee of Stargazers Club WA) arising from the use of or reliance on any information, data or advice (including incomplete, out of date, wrong, inaccurate or misleading information, data or advice) expressed or implied in, or coming from, Stargazers Club WA’s website, by any person whosoever.
- Stargazers Club WA is not responsible for any injury or damage from any technical malfunction of Internet systems, servers, or software resulting from membership of Stargazers Club WA.
- Stargazers Club WA Disclaimer, Stargazers Club WA Privacy Policy and Stargazers Club WA Website Terms and Conditions of Use form part of these Stargazers Club WA Terms and Conditions.
- Stargazers Club WA may vary these terms and conditions at any time. Any variations become effective upon posting on the website.
- By continuing to be a member of Stargazers Club WA and use of this website following a variation of these Stargazers Club WA Terms and Conditions, you consent to be bound by the varied terms and conditions.
- A failure or delay by Stargazers Club WA to exercise a power or right under these Stargazers Club WA Terms and Conditions does not constitute as a waiver of that power or right, and the exercise of a power or right by Stargazers Club WA does not preclude its future exercise or the exercise of any power or right.
- The laws of Western Australia, Australia govern this agreement. Your transaction is deemed to have taken place in Gingin, Western Australia.
