Where Do We Stargaze?

Western Australia - The Envy of the world!

Western Australia is renowned for some of the world’s best Stargazing, here’s why:

  • Perth is the most isolated continental capital city in the world so you don't have to travel far from the bright city lights to see beautiful night skies full of stars.
  • With low humidity, clean air & very little light pollution, Western Australia boasts some of the darkest night skies in the world, making it an absolute mecca for Stargazers from all around the globe.
  • Country Western Australia is uncrowded and offers an array of ideal observing sites in welcoming country towns.
  • Being in the Earth's Southern Hemisphere allows us to see the best part of the Milky Way Galaxy all year round!

Stargazing is A superb hobby to have

Whether you are on your own, with friends or have a whole family of curious star gazers, it’s now easy to kick-start your new hobby with Stargazers Club WA.

There is nothing more reinvigorating than heading outdoors, leaving your computer screens and city lights behind for the mesmerising dark night skies, it’s guaranteed to blow your mind!

It’s a great social club where you’ll meet like-minded people of all ages along with local amateurs who share a passion for stargazing.

Hear from our Rising Stars!

Many thanks for running the class.
It was a big help.
I think my telescope would’ve remained stuck in the garage without something like your class to give me the jump start I needed.

I enjoyed the lunar eclipse Stargazers Club event at the Old Perth Observatory. What a wonderful evening! Great to see some of the members, coupled with a lovely evening with lots of interesting things to do and look at. I look forward to whatever you plan next 🙂.

I really liked your Stargazing Forecast about Sirius as it is a practical thing that kids can go outside and see. I don’t know that much, but really love being able to point out various planets and stars. I couldn’t do it unless I had read it in the Stargazing Forecast.
